Our Capabilities and Services With 18 testing centers within USM’s Main Campus, Health Campus, Research Campus, and Engineering Campus and continuous technical support provided by our certified consultants (Registered/Certified chemists and specialists), combined with numerous accreditations, we are an obvious choice for specialist laboratory testing.




Testing services offered range from routine testing as well as new method development testing services such as:
  • Trace elements toxicology testing for environmental samples, food and drink samples, herbal preparations, and pharmaceuticals/cosmetics/consumer products/unknown substances
  • Heavy metals
  • Screening of drugs, corticosteroids, pesticide, and nicotine and cotinine in urine or hair samples



USM currently boasts of three MS ISO certified laboratory testing centres:
  • The School of Housing, Building & Planning (HBP) is accredited with MS ISO17025 certification for tensile and cube testing of building materials
  • The National Poison Centre or Pusat Racun Negara (PRN) has MS ISO17025 certification for toxicology testing of chemical contents
  • The Centre for Advance Analytical Toxicological Services (CAATS) with its Australian Nata ISO17025 accreditation for chemicals or substances analysis
